A Knock At Midnight, NFP currently offers the following programs and services for youth and adults:
1. Teen REACH
REACH stands for Responsibility, Education, Achievement, Caring and Hope. The program, which began in 1998, was established by the Illinois Department of Human Services. The program offers positive services and activities for youth between the ages of 6 and 17 during out-of-school hours. more
2. Grandfamilies Program of Chicago
This program is comprised of a network of support services to meet the unique needs of grandparents raising grandchildren. Assistance and counseling regarding financial burdens, medical issues, utility costs, housing, childcare, and employment are few of the areas covered. more
3. Youth Development Program
Developed by AKAM, this program provides a supervised, safe, learning plus entertaining environment for kids during the after-school hours throughout the entire school year. The mission is to encourage positive development and avoid and/or reduce risk-taking behaviors in youth. more
4. Computer Literacy Training
This training provides step by step training on fundamental computer skills such as working with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, using internet for information searching and exchanging, and building resume. The aim is to improve the job market competibility and work performance of our participants. more
5. Applied Living Skills Program
This program is designed to help participants on applying life skills properly to life situations, thereby, assist in reaching their full potential. Example topics are Character Development, Self-Esteem, Communication Skills, Resolving Conflicts, and Substance Abuse. more
6. Character Development
This program is to help youth increase self awareness, build healthy social behavior, participate in positive relationship, and avoid substance abuse through presentation, demonstration, discussion, questions & answers, and other strategies. more
7. Male Responsibility Training
This progam focuses on helping male youth recognizing and building their self identification and disctinctive responsibilities towards the family and our community. more
8. Substance Abuse Prevention
Primary Prevention strategies focuses on individuals and the harmful behaviors and situations they encumber. Of the five prevention modalities (information, alternatives, developing policy, life skills and social development), the focus for this project is on life skills and social development. more
