Hear Their Stories ...

Cameron Jones took A Knock At Midnight Community Technology Center (AKAM, CTC)^s computer literacy class in April 2006. He is currently attending the center for employment training and will receive a certificate in Building Maintenance by August 2006. At the completion of his class in AKAM, he wrote down the following comments:

I was inspired by the connection they had with their students, plus the time & effort they applied. They really make you feel like you’re learning something. Because some other places don’t! Thank you AKAM CTC!!

Another April 2006 computer literacy class student, Shawn Johnson, is also currently working for a Building Maintenance Cerficate in the center for employment training. In retrospect, he said,

AKAM inspired me to move forward in education and job training to better my success in the work field and open many options in life to be a better person, husband and father. My life has changed for the good since AKAM, and I really like to thank Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Young and AKAM for opening the doors and allow me to expand my goals. We definitely need AKAM in every community in our city.

Thank you and God bless.

Carolyn Jones wants to be a medical assistant. Understanding computer skill is a necessasity in her career path, she completed the computer literacy training in AKAM in April 2006.

Attend the class was the first step of making a change. Learning the skills of using drafting, resume, to learning how to powerpoint, to learning how to use Excel program, WinWay, Microsoft, etc. I’ve taken this with me. Knowing Mrs. Perry Young & Mrs. Brown was a great inspiration to me. I’m leaving you with ABILITY. There’s no limit to ability. The more you learn, the more you practice, the more you study, the more ability you will have. There has never been there never will be a limit to ability or what you can be!!!

Lakesha Johnson is another lady on her way toward a Medical Assistant.

AKAM inspired me to strive for the best. The field that I am in I needed to know the basic computer literacy. I thank AKAM for having this class. I learned a lot while I was here. AKAM taught me "all you have to do is put your mind to it and you will succeed".  Thank you Mrs. Brown & Mrs. Young.

Thank you,
Lakesha Johnson
